Aaron's take

Nail salons have one of the largest local searches I have seen. "Nail salon near me" gets around 3.4 million searches a month in the US, and "pedicure near me" about 550,000. Clients also search by service and style, such as acrylic nails at about 135,000, nail art at about 74,000 and gel manicures and dip powder at about 33,100 each.

The nail salons that win online keep hours and prices clear, show photos of real nail work, explain hygiene and sanitation, make booking easy and say whether walk-ins are welcome. Searches peak from May to July, so summer is the busiest season. Several of the top-reviewed nail salons also list waxing and spa services.

Your website

Pages your website needs

In the order I would build them. Each page targets one group of searches.

  1. Services and prices page

Clients compare. Show every service and price.

  2. Nail art gallery

Clients choose by style. Show real work.

  3. Hygiene page

Explain how tools are cleaned. Clients care.

  4. Online booking page

Let clients book from their phone.

  5. Walk-ins page

Say clearly when walk-ins are welcome.

  6. Group and party bookings page

Bridal parties and events bring group bookings.

How I plan and build sites like this

Google Business Profile

Google Business Profile for nail salons

Primary category
Nail salon
Secondary categories
Waxing hair removal serviceBeauty salonDay spaFacial spa

Categories checked on October 13, 2026

What to get right

  • Use Nail salon as your primary category. Of the 10 most-reviewed US nail salons I checked, 3 added Waxing hair removal service and Beauty salon.
  • Add other services only if you offer them.
  • Post photos of real nail work every week.
  • Keep prices up to date in your profile services.

Reviews

Reviews that matter for nail salons

Where reviews count

  • Google
  • Yelp
  • Facebook
  • Ask every customer, not only the happy ones, right after the job is done.
  • Send one short message with a direct link, so leaving a review takes a single tap.
  • Reply to every review, good or bad, calmly and specifically.
  • Never pay for reviews or offer anything in return. It breaks Google's rules.

Ads and SEO

Local Services Ads, Google Ads and SEO

Nail Salons can advertise with Local Services Ads, the "Google Verified" ads that sit above everything else for many local searches. You pay per lead, not per click.

  • Google category: Nail salon
  • The Google Verified badge is not available for this category.
  • Pre-badge ads are available while verification is pending.
  • Booking leads are available.
  • This category is only available in California and Florida.

Google is moving Local Services Ads into Performance Max with pay-per-lead goals, starting with a first US phase in August 2026.

Ads and SEO work best together. Ads buy leads while your organic and map rankings grow, and strong reviews and a complete Google Business Profile help both. As SEO brings in more leads for free, you can lower ad spend on the searches you already win.

For context, Google search ads in the Beauty & Personal Care category average $39.25 per lead (LocaliQ, 2026). That is a search ads benchmark, not a Local Services Ads lead price.

FAQ

Nail Salon SEO questions

How big are nail salon searches?

Among the largest local searches there are. In the US, "nail salon near me" gets about 3.4 million searches a month and "pedicure near me" about 550,000. Clients decide quickly on distance, reviews, photos and prices, so an accurate, active profile matters most.

Can nail salons use Local Services Ads?

Nail salon is a Local Services Ads category on Google's US list, but only in California and Florida. Elsewhere, paid search means regular Google Ads. In every state, SEO and a strong Google Business Profile bring in customers without a cost per lead. Google says these ads are ranked on factors such as your distance from the customer, your reviews and how quickly you respond to leads.

Should nail salons explain hygiene?

Yes. Clients care about how tools and foot baths are cleaned, and many check reviews for comments about cleanliness. A short page explaining your sanitation routine, with photos, builds trust and can be the reason a client picks you over a nearby salon.

When do people search for nail salons?

In the US, nail salon searches peak from May to July and are lowest in January and October, with a swing of about 1.5 times. Summer promotions and group booking offers before the peak help fill chairs when demand is highest.

How much does SEO cost for a nail salon?

It depends on how competitive your area is, how many services and locations you want to rank for and what your website needs first. Most nail salons pay monthly, because new pages, reviews and local work need steady attention. I look at your site and the competitors near you first, then give you a fixed quote.
